Make money on the internet
To understand how to get ranked by a search engine, it helps to understand a little about search engines themselves.
Everyone knows how to use one right? You find your search engine site, type in what you want to find and you get a list of all the sites that are related to your enquiry. But not everyone searches the same ways.
Lets take "how to make money" as a search option. Someone might type it as just that, then someone else might try a get more specific about it like "learn how to make money on the internet", or you get others who type in a full question, then someone else might just type "make money".
How do we try and target all these people? is it possible? Hopefully over the next few weeks we can target all these keywords and get them to your site!
The three major search engines that we shall try and target to get traffic from are, MSN, Yahoo, and of course Google.
Google has been around since 1997, its become the most popular one, and its the one that most people try to get number one with! It's the most accurate one out there, and no-one really knows what gets you to number one, as it changes constantly, as when someone works out how to get to number one on google with seo, google will add some other criterior that you will have to work on. As long as you grow with the google algorithms with experimentation, you should do good staying on top. Try all old techniques, the new techniques, and try to keep up to date wuith whats going on with the internet, or it will leave you behind.
Yahoo is a search engine, but its also a web directory, a list of the different web pages on the internet, sorted into category, and sub category. Theres also a paid program to be listed in yahoo, which some think is the way you get to the top of yahoo.
MSN is the new kid on the block, and not as popular as yahoo or google. MSN searches are based on page content, which is good for a new site, emphasised for specific keywords. Being listed on MSN sooner rather than later will help increase your traffic.
How to get ranked highly in all search engines is trial and error, and you should only try one thing at a time so you know what works for your next site, and when you try something else, you know if that is helping you out as well.
Its all time and patience, but if youre willing to give it a lot of effort at first, then it will pay off in the long run. Keep an eye on the sites that rank at the number one positions, and see if you can work out what they do, as they didnt get there by accident..

Domain Names
Money on the Internet
You may be asking yourself how am I meant to make money on the internet with any of these ideas? But we will concentrate on actual money making ideas in future posts, firstly though I want you to understand the importance of setting your site up from the beginning and how all the little details will effect it later on! For now lets talk about the importance of domain names.
In other posts we have mentioned some ways that you can optimize your site, now we are going to break some of those down into more detail.
Firstly before you even think about setting up a site, you need to have the right domain name for you. Most people think of a business name or their own name for their URL, and some other people think that it doesnt matter what the address is, it's what's on the page that gets you to the top of the search engines.
If this is true, then why do people make huge amounts of money selling certain domains, and why are people willing to pay these prices for them? There must be some importance in the right URL. What's the importance of a name?
Open up your google browser and search for any type of product, the majority of the top ranking sites will have the keywords in their URL, even if the site that is ranking well below them has more content and is a better site. So try and have your domain name relevant to what your keyword is on your site. This will improve your site ranking.
Keep your name as short, you want people to remember it.
Get to the point in your name, dont have dashes, underscores, or other symbols that has no relevance to your keywords.
Try to have a dot com name if possible, these rank better, and are easier to remember as well.

SEO part 2
Make Money Online
If you read my last my post I mentioned a few things you can do to optimize your blog, such as :
- Include your keywords in your page title
- Use italics, underlines and bold keywords, but only do one of each per post
- Use your keyword at the beginning and at the end of your post
- Use the symbol instead of filler words such as and is if etc.
These are all referred to as onpage optimization, which is important, but if you want to race your way up the ranks, then you also need to more importantly concentrate on offpage optimization as well.
For offpage optimization in this post, we will concentrate on getting links to your site.
It is important that you get links to your site that is related to your site, as you don't want to have started a site about dog grooming, and you have a link from a make money on the internet site do you? So don't go linking your site to anyone and everyone as this won't help you race up the ranks of google.
A good trick is to type your main keyword into google, see what the number one site is for this phrase is, then do a link search on the number one url. If you don't know how to do this simply type the following into google search - link:domain.com domain.com being the number one url that ranked for you chosen word.
This also may be an opportunity to re-examine if you have chosen the right phrases to optimize, as if you do something like "make money online" or "how to make money on the internet" then you will realise how much competition there is out there, including me! (yes an obvious money on the internet keyword add in from me there!!)
The list that you get is all the links that is pointing to this url. Depending on how much work the site owner has done, there could be thousands, meaning you've got a lot of work to do, or does it?
Look at the URLs some of them might actually be links from inside the url that youre actually checking the links for, and some of them might be low PR sites, meaning good news for you.
So to start though we can try and copy the number one ranked site, trying to get the same sites linking to you. You could email each one of the sites letting them know that you like their site that much that you have linked them on your site, then follow it up by asking them to link to your site. This may or may not work, depending on the quality of your site, it's worth a shot.
Other ways to get links is to leave comments on peoples sites leaving your url, you may get contacted by random browsers of the sites, or the sites owners. This may or may not work either, but it should get you some traffic to your site.
A good way to get links that I like is writing articles. Make them around 400 words long if you can, and get keyword in there at least 5 or 6 times per 100 words. Just base them on your posts but change the wording around a little, as you want to go for unique articles, you dont want it just to be copied straight from your site to the article.
Articles are great as you can leave a blurb at the end with your url, and not only will you get traffic, but if someone uses your article on their site, you will get a one way link from their site to yours from writing an article!
So there are a couple of ways to get links to your site, will go into some other ways in future posts on make money on the Internet. Once again if one person gets something out of these posts then thats more than worth it!

Make money online
I must admit that there are far more superior blogs out there showing you how to make money on the internet, than what I have here at the moment, but I'm just trying to be another one those people trying to decipher all these techniques into basic online money making information.
I'm not puting my hand up and saying that I'm an expert at making money on the internet, far from it, I'm probably just like you, know a few tricks, read countless blogs and articles, tried my hand at a few blogs with certain keywords on it, but so far havent really made much.
You know what though guys, this is all about to change for you and me, as we together are going to rise to the top and get money on the internet like all those others say that they are, and it aint going to cost us a cent!
In this SEO section over the next few posts, or however long it takes to explain what I want to with these subjects, we shall cover the importance of Keywords, Ranking, Backlinks, and others which are all aimed at getting traffic to your site or blog.
Getting Traffic / The Importance of Keywords
So you've set up your nice new blog or site, which is focused on a certain keyword and you're wanting to make a little or alot of online money from it right? Well you wouldn't be reading another blog on how to make money on the internet if you weren't interested in it would you?
Generating traffic to your site/blog is important if you want to earn any sort of online money. Hmmm you might be looking at this with a stupid look on your face saying tell me something I dont know, or maybe youre just thinking how do I generate traffic??
Firstly what is it that your'e trying to generate traffic for on your site/blog? Is it a keyword that many people are actually searching for? Maybe it's a keyword that has a lot of competition that already know all the SEO tricks? Maybe you should look at other keywords first?
I like to check out my fellow bloggers sites before starting anything, type a few keywords I'm interested in into google and see what's on their site, and think of ways I can do it better, or maybe just stay away from it if I think I'm out of my league.
Of course you might just be in it for the money, and have a site/blog with not much interesting content on it, just something that is optimized for a certain keyword that you are trying to get people to click on links and adsense. But still you need to know how to use SEO to get onto that first page on google.
My whole goal with this how to make money blog is about optimizing googles search engine, yes yahoo and the others is nice as well, but the number one engine is google, so lets aim for a number one spot with our keywords on google.
So what do we do first? Let's optimize our layout for our keyword phrase.
I usually use blogger for my blogs, but I also like to dip my toe in wordpress, and others, but let us focus on blogger layouts for the time being.
First of all your URL should contain your keyword in it, if you can't get exactly what you want, keep trying variations until you can, but try and get some type of variation of your keyword in your URL address. Have your keywords in your page title, as well as in your sidebar titles as well. You want google to know what your keyword is when it comes searching your site.
Now for your post. Make sure your post title has your keyword in it. Have your keyword used around 6 times only per 100 words that you have written, if you over indulge with your phrase, then google might class your blog as spam, and you will go into that dreaded sandbox!
Bold your keyword a couple of times, and post some relevant content to do with your topic, maybe even have an italic one in there somewhere, it just make it stand out that this is the emphasis of your site. Also try and use it in the last sentence of your post.
How long your posts are is totally upto you, but the longer the post, the more times you can fit your word into it, and you can get indexed with other terms as well, meaning more traffic for different searches.
So this is the first post on SEO (search engine optimization) on make money on the internet, If it has helped one person alone then I shall be happy, if it's the same old same, then keep reading my next few posts and I hope that you may find something new.

How to Make Money On The Internet
Money on the internet
There is an abundance of dollars out there to be made on the internet right? If you've searched for ways to make money online, or how to get rich on the internet, then you know that it's easy to make millions instantly!
Ok so if this is true, then why arent I a millionaire yet? Is there something I don't know? Or is it that I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on money making courses, ebooks, and all the other get rich quick schemes that are out there!
What I have managed to get my hands on though is free copies of these types of books from people that have paid for them, and also have been reading hundreds of different blogs on the subject of make money on the internet, and my road to riches starts today.
If you want to join me on this path to the magic million dollar mark, then together we shall find ways to make simple blogs into a money making magnet!!
We shall cover everything from seo (search engine optimization), adsense, backlinks, affiliate programs, articles, page ranking, adwords (although I'm trying not to spend a cent with this) and countless other techniques that you usually have to pay a lot of money for.
This will be exciting to see where this leads, and to see where the internet money lays.
